This weekend I returned from nearly two weeks in Honduras and Guatemala, attending our largest graduation classes in both locations. To see the students coming in with candles lit, worshiping the One who has called them to be La luz—the light was so inspiring! At the graduation banquet at El Faro, Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, four graduating seniors came up and prayed, each in their native language: Garifuna, Q’ecqhi, Spanish, and English (Belize speaks both Spanish and English). I am so grateful that God is using GLOMOS to equip these pastors from different people groups and from different nations.
Our Honduran graduation also included two students from Nicaragua, who are ready to begin GLOMOS in their country. God is using GLOMOS, and Global Action in significant ways to extend His Kingdom around the world. It reminded me of the last thing Jesus said to His disciples before His final ascension in Acts 1:8: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. These statements are both promises and facts, if we appropriate that power to accomplish God’s purposes.
· Need - Our GLOMOS graduates as they take their ministries to the next level, for guidance, for provision, for a vision of what God is calling them to.
o Promise: “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God…” Colossians 1:9-10
· Need - Good response to our quarterly update letter from financial supporters of Global Action that we sent out last week.
o Promise: “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
· Need - Swift resolution to the sale of the Hope Center Property in India, and for the legal aspects connected with it.
o Promise: “Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.” Psalm 37:5-6
· Need - Carin’s (our accountant at the USA office) 19-year-old daughter is struggling with depression. Please pray that she will be healed and/or that she would be willing to accept help.
o Promise: “Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses. He caused the storm to be still, so that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad because they were quiet, So He guided them to their desired haven.” Psalms 107: 28-30
In His grace,
